Easy & Healthy Breakfast

Today I am going to tell you my little secret recipe I found and adapted. A banana pancake! These pancakes keep you full, are extremely easy, are a healthy choice, and most of all delicious!

Ingredients:

1 large egg
1 large banana
1/2 cup of oats (any kind is fine, they will be ground up)

In order, add the egg, banana, and oats to your blender or food processor. Make sure to break the banana into small chunks before blending. Blend until the mixture is lump-less and smooth. (It is ok if it is a little coarse from the oats.) Next heat up your griddle on medium heat. If you drip a little water on the pan it should fizz and "dance." When your griddle is ready put a little butter on the pan to grease it. Scoop your batter onto the pan and smooth to your desired thickness. Cook like a regular pancake.
This recipe can make one large pancake for a hearty breakfast, or 2 smaller ones for a light breakfast. These are best eaten with syrup. I swear they taste exactly like regular banana pancakes!

To prep the night before, crack your egg into a airtight container the night before. Store your oats in a bowl on the counter next to your banana.

Health Benefits

Banana- Good vitamins, flavor, and quick energy.
Oats- Keeps you full for forever.
Egg- Good protein to keep you going.

Keep that resolution!

It seems everybody I know puts "exercise more" on their new years resolution, and it seems very few people keep this resolution. Getting enough exercise and eating right can improve your whole lifestyle which makes it worthwhile. In this post I am going to share tips and tricks I feel that would help people keep their resolution and improve their lifestyle.

1. Find your favorite way to exercise.
When making your resolution you need to have a plan in mind of how you are going to fulfill it, in this case finding a way to exercise that you are most comfortable with and fits your lifestyle. If you have good sidewalks in your neighborhood try running, if you don't have the stamina for running and want to tone your whole body while stretching out your muscles try yoga, if you have a pool nearby and time to spare swim laps, if you want to gain muscle without having to go somewhere to do it get various weights and work out. You catch my drift, find something that works for you and stick with it.

2. Do it with other people.
When you exercise with other people it tends to encourage you and makes it more fun. It also encourages friendly competition. Set up a schedule with a friend, or even just take a class with other people.

3. Invest in good products.
If you  start running, don't do it in crappy shoes. This makes it easier to do and gives you a reason to do it. Start to give up? Just think of the money you spent on it.

4. Turn chores into exercise.
If the dog needs to be walked don't make someone else do it, its a good way to get your daily dose of exercise in. Need to mow the lawn, don't hire someone to do it, get out there and push that mower around. Have to put laundry away, do lunges on the way to the bedroom, the laundry as a weight.

5. Be comfortable in your clothing.
Trying to exercise in an outfit that you don't feel comfortable in can discourage you and slow you down in your progress. It's kind of like trying to run in a jean skirt, but more then that.
