DIY Whiter Teeth

Lets face it, everybody wants pearly white teeth. It's just the thing, weather it was social medias doing or some random thing in our human nature, everybody wants white teeth. Instead of emptying your wallet on time consuming procedures or uncomfortable over the counter products try this more natural way that uses basic kitchen items.

Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
lemon juice/lemon
small bowl
mixing utensil

Put your baking soda in the bowl and add lemon juice to make a paste. Add a little bit at a time and be sure to not squeeze seeds into the bowl. Mix with your chosen mixing tool. Floss your teeth before you do this next step. Take your paste and apply a generous amount to your toothbrush. Brush your teeth with this mixture for 1 minute. You may think brushing your teeth with this longer will make them more white, but the lemon juice can sensitize your teeth and damage them if left on too long. Just a warning this mixture will taste salty. After brushing spit out the mixture and rinse with water. Use a couple times a week. If you don't have lemon juice you can use water but can leave on for up to 3 minutes instead of one. This is not as effective as lemon juice but may be used more frequently.
With this method I saw results right away, the only downside is that you have to make a new batch every time you want to whiten your teeth. You can always make a larger batch. Comment below if you try this and find out how to store this and how long it will keep. Happy whitening and check out the polls below!

Bedroom organization

Happy Saturdays! Today I am going to do a bedroom organization/diy/life hacks post! I was browsing pinterest for room diys and fall organization, when I decided to do a blog post. Today I present to you a list of things to make your bedroom functional, cute, and organized. Lets dive in!

1. Your wall color.
If you are redoing your room, the paint color is key. When picking a wall color think about your furniture and things you will display. If you go with lighter walls, like white or a pale green, your room can handle bright accents. If your wall is super bright, you might want to have clean furnature and a simple duvet.

2. Have a notepad by your nightstand.
You can jot down notes and to do lists for the next day while in bed. Then you can go to sleep worry free, because when you wake up your to do list will be right where you are sure to see it.

3. Keep your nightstand by an outlet.
This is probably a big duh, for most people, but anyways. If you have an outlet you can string lights above your headboard for a cozy glow. I got mine from target.

4. Tissue box hack.
Am I the only one that runs out of tissues, and the only tissue box left is a really ugly bright blue and green swirly print? Hopefully not. If this happens to you, carefully unfold the side flaps and slide the tissues out. Make sure they retain their shape, and slide them into the old box. Tape the sides closed, and tada!

5. Designate a phone charging area.
Have a place where you plug in all your chargers and tetchy stuff. Preferably by a desk, nightstand, or dresser. This helps make sure you don't have tons of chargers and lost phones.

6. Keep your products organized.
Instead of having a pile of bottles and bamboozels on your dresser or bathroom counter, use this organization strategy. Get a flat bottom plate or tray and corral all of your products you use every day. I have lotion, mascara, stuff like that. I also used a white salad plate from target. This works in your bathroom or bedroom. It's cute and functional! You can even move it from room to room, easy.

(sort of) DIY nail polish

So my toes were looking pretty ugly. To pretty them up I decided to paint my nails. I was inspired to paint them gray after seeing this gorgeous gray polish in the October boxycharm. The only problem was I didn't have gray nail polish, and wasn't about to run out to the store and fork over 6 bucks. I had white polish and black polish, why not mix them like paint? A pretty obvious idea was born. To create your own polish such as gray, or any other color, you need these materials. I'm going to use gray as an example.

Materials:
Black nail polish
White nail polish
Disposable cup
Small paintbrush that you are willing to part with

Optional for people who get nail polish everywhere:
Paper towels
Nail polish remover
Q-tips

So the first thing you do is put a good amount of white polish in your cup. Remember you need enough to paint your nails, so just eyeball it. If you make too much, your fingers are looking kind of dull, spice them up with your leftovers! Next put some black in your cup, start with a little bit and then add more if it is not dark enough. Mix your white and black together with your paintbrush and paint your nails like you normally would. If your nails have texture when you use the paintbrush, your brush might not be soft enough. If you like, after you paint your nails touch up with some nail polish remover and apply a top coat. Either throw away your paintbrush or soak it in nail polish remover for a couple hours to clean it.
I actually did this DIY today. I mixed some shimmery red polish with a little bit of black and I got this gorgeous dark plum color. I hope you enjoyed! I also encourage you to check out these other nail DIYs.
